Traffic on Jessore Road in Madhyamgram was disrupted due to a large crowd of customers gathering at the new branch of Barrackpore’s famous ‘Dada-Boudir Biryani’. Upon receiving the news, Madhyamgram traffic police officials arrived at the scene and took strict measures to normalize traffic flow. However, no response has been received from the restaurant authorities regarding this matter yet.
It is reported that a branch of this famous biryani restaurant has opened near National Highway 12 in Madhyamgram. On the first Sunday following the inauguration, a crowd of biryani enthusiasts gathered in front of the outlet. Long queues and the resulting congestion disrupted traffic on the road that night. Many people were seen waiting in long lines to buy and eat the biryani. Although there was space outside the shop, no authorized parking facilities were visible.
It is alleged that many customers visiting the shop were parking their two-wheelers and four-wheelers along Jessore Road before entering the premises. This caused significant traffic issues on this important thoroughfare, leading to a traffic jam as a section of the road became clogged with vehicles.
Upon learning of the situation, officials from the district administration and traffic police quickly arrived at the site. Acting on instructions from senior administrative officials, the traffic police and relevant authorities assessed the situation in the area. In addition to monitoring for illegal parking, the traffic police were seen imposing fines on several motorists.
Although the shop authorities have deployed security personnel, they are struggling to manage the massive crowds. Local residents claim that while the opening of the popular biryani shop's new branch has boosted commercial activity in the area, the lack of adequate parking facilities is causing problems on Jessore Road. Locals have expressed concern over this situation along a major thoroughfare like Jessore Road, especially at a time when the administration is keeping a close watch on illegal parking across the state. No response has been received from the authorities of 'Dada-Boudir Biryani' regarding this matter so far. However, administrative sources indicate that the situation is being monitored, and necessary measures may be taken if traffic congestion persists in the future.
